Ananya is a compassionate and empathetic social worker, committed to improving the mental health and well-being of her clients. She holds an Honours Bachelor's degree in Psychology from York University and a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto, specializing in therapy with children and families.
With a decade of experience in healthcare, Ananya has developed a diverse skill set that includes crisis intervention, risk assessments, safety planning, and a wide range of therapeutic approaches. She is well-versed in Client-Centered and Strengths-Based principles, mindfulness-based therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Narrative Therapy (NT), psychodynamic therapy, somatic therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and existential therapy, among others. Her extensive background has allowed her to support individuals facing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, anger issues, traumatic experiences, sexual abuse, OCD, ADHD, Autism, addiction, body image concerns, relationship difficulties, caregiving burnout, and other mood and behavioral disorders.
Ananya adopts a person-centered and trauma-informed approach, prioritizing her clients' unique needs. She understands that vulnerability can be challenging, however, she believes that it is within these moments of openness and courage that meaningful growth and healing can occur. Her goal is to support clients through this process, offering guidance, empathy, and a safe space to explore their thoughts and feelings. Together, they can work towards discovering resilience and the capacity to cope with life's challenges, no matter how difficult they may seem.
